The leaves are turning, the air has that crisp edge to it, and we have some news we can't stop smiling about.
Our West Rd property in Lee was featured in Architectural Digest's roundup of the Berkshires Best hotels and homes for a Charming Weekend Away!
I'll be honest, I read it more than once. They wrote that relaxation is the main design theme of the house, and I teared up a little, because that's exactly what we hoped for when we started.
This home is personal to us. We designed it and built it, and before it was ever a place for guests, it was a place for our family. We've had slow mornings on the screened porch, evenings around the fire pit, and more than a few nights under the vaulted ceilings watching the snow come down through all those windows. To see it recognized, and to know that so many of you love it the way we do, means more than I can say.
A few thank-yous are in order. To Architectural Digest, for seeing what we see in this place. To Tricia McCormack, whose beautiful photos are the ones they used, and who has a gift for capturing how a space feels. And most of all, to every guest who has stayed with us, left a kind note, or come back again. You are what makes this house loved. It was built to enjoyed, and you've done exactly that.
If you haven't been yet, fall is a wonderful time to come. Picture the wood-fired hot tub on a cool night, a fire going in the living room, and the hills outside turning red and gold. You're between Stockbridge, Lenox, and Lee, and only 15 minutes from Great Barrington, so there's plenty to explore. But I hope you'll also give yourself permission to do nothing at all. Put down your phone, breathe the fresh air, and walk in the trees.
